About me
Coaching,
a revelation!
As we move forward in life, our identity and the way we interact with our environment become more important.
I am many things : certified coach, consultant, mentor, lawyer, member of boards of directors
After my bar exam, I practiced as a compliance consultant for over 25 years. I worked for the regulatory authority FINMA and major audit firms in Switzerland, where I gained expertise in compliance, risk management and corporate governance, before starting my own company in 2015: Compliance Angels. This was to provide compliance support based on genuine attention to clients' needs, efficiency and ethics, as well as a training and coaching programme specifically designed for compliance professionals.

I am Geneviève Berclaz.
My life, my path, my experiences and my encounters have made me who I am today.
About 13 years ago, I took part in a leadership course that changed my life. The coach who ran the course identified a strong intuition in me and encouraged me to develop and use this gift. I took his advice and enrolled in a coaching program, although my original intention was to do an MBA. It was a real revelation! As we move forward in life, our identity and the way we interact with our environment become more important.
Passionate about human functioning and motivated by the desire to help people in personal or professional difficulties, I became a certified coach and have since then been practicing on a daily basis, both for myself and my family and friends, as well as with my clients.
As a member of the board of directors of several financial institutions and chair of a listed Swiss bank, I have figured out a way to own my position as a woman in a very male-dominated environment. Having personally faced some challenges and experienced ways to solve them and move forward, I decided to make my experience available to women who are reaching management or board positions, in order to accompany them on their journey. Individual coaching can help to develop confidence, presence, leadership, sovereignty and authenticity in just a few sessions.
I've been passionate about life coaching for many years. My own life path has led me to develop a particular sensitivity to those who are going through difficult times. I have acquired solid expertise and effective tools to help you overcome obstacles, regain your self-confidence and achieve your goals. I'm convinced that everyone has the potential to transform themselves and move forward.
A separation, an aggressive form of breast cancer, brutal bereavements, difficulties as a parent: these are the obstacles that life has put in my path over the past few years. An initiation that has taught me a lot about myself, my strengths, my weaknesses and my desires. These “great crossings” have changed me deeply and have changed the way I see things, the way I live the present and the way I see the future. A form of wisdom and a capacity to be truly alive that I would like to pass on.
“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.” Anaïs Nin
Passionate about systemic approach, which offers a fascinating vision of the interactions we have with ourselves, our environment and with others, I have followed a certification training in strategic systemic approach at the Gregory Bateson Institute in Lausanne since 2015 and hope to obtain my Master's degree soon. In order to follow this approach and go back to its source, I also obtained my Certificate of Master Practitioner in Ericksonian Hypnosis in 2022.
I was in a relationship for 18 years, separated in 2017, and I am the mother of two daughters who are now teenagers. Parenthood has been a sight navigation school (while staying on course); it has taught me to recognize failures and weaknesses, to practice presence, congruence and empathy, and to be the best mother I can be (at best, sometimes it’s an approximation). All this while maintaining my identity as a woman and building a career outside the box.

“Pain is inevitable; suffering is a choice.”
This principle of Buddhist thought has been with me since my diagnosis. It does not mean denying pain and hardship, only not making the whole experience. Even in the darkest moments there is always something to marvel at, to laugh or cry about, to feel so alive. It's about embracing that bittersweet paradox.
- Quoted from 'My Cancer and Me', a text I wrote to share my experience of living with and after breast cancer (only in French for the time being).

Today I feel the need to share my knowledge, my personal experiences and above all the lessons I have learnt, by accompanying people who have gone through or are going through a complicated period, a traumatic event, a “shitstorm”. This role of “crosser” is important to me: to establish a relationship of companionship, to help the other person to feel alive, to remain present, authentic and an actor in his “great crossing”, and then to move on. I like the image of the lifebuoy that you grab in the middle of a storm to give you a little stability. Then climbing back on board, raising the sails and learning to navigate differently on the capricious waves of life, finding your centre in the midst of the storm.
I'm here to support you in difficult times, when you're going through a challenging life event. My approach is based on empathy, active listening and respect for your personal journey. Working together, we'll create a safe space where you can explore your emotions, identify your deepest needs and find the resources you need to move forward.
Life coaching is “opposed" to “executive coaching”, which is theoretically more related to professional aspects. In reality, this distinction seems useless to me, even worrying: does the concept of “life coaching” (non-professional) mean that one is dead, or at least not alive in the business world (an impression reinforced by the notion of “work-life balance”, for which I have a slight aversion)?
For many years I have been practicing, using my coaching and support skills and knowledge in my relationships with clients, friends and family. This has enabled me to live a more satisfying life (I love the etymology of “satisfy”, which means “to do enough”, no more and no less, in a kind of ecology) and to help many people on their personal and professional journeys. I practice a kind of “life coaching” in the sense that I accompany you through difficult moments in your life by giving you tools whose effectiveness I have personally tested, by inviting you to play with new ways of doing things, by showing you that it is possible to see your world in a different way, more organic for you, to enrich the palette of possibilities.
Relationship coaching is also part of my service: the quality of our relationships with others, our human relationships, are essential to our well-being; they are our engine.
I am not a psychologist! My approach is complementary to doctors because I see myself more as a guide, a life mentor. I help you deconstruct your beliefs and create a new story.
“We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.” - Anaïs Nin.
I believe that we all live in a world we create and that each of us has a unique perception of reality. I find it fascinating that our thoughts and reactions can shape our own view of the world, allowing us to create our own heaven or hell. We have the power to change our interpretation of past and present events and decide how these experiences affect our lives. This is why I became interested in systemic approach and Ericksonian hypnosis, which have changed my vision of the world.
My mission is to help you reshape your world according to your own values, needs and goals. Through individual coaching I will guide you to explore your reality in depth, to develop self-awareness and intuition, to create more organic narratives, to create a world more capable of embracing the paradoxes of existence. Together we will set up concrete steps to enable you to adopt new ways of thinking and approaching your life events in order to find a balance that suits you better. I offer you personalized guidance according to your motivations, your barriers and your background.
I see myself as a warrior of your potential. I believe in the best in others, always.
A life coach is a professional who specializes in individual coaching. My role is to help people achieve their goals and optimize their personal and/or professional potential, by providing support, advice, tools and adapted strategies. The aim is to bring more play into your life, in the sense of lightness, space and breathing.
My approach to life coaching is holistic, which means I take into account all aspects of your being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. I believe in the importance of establishing a balance and dialogue between these areas to promote your overall well-being. Working together, you'll explore the different dimensions of your life and put in place personalized strategies to enable you to develop in all aspects of your existence.
My coaching practice is based on specific methods such as active listening, hypnosis, the strategic systemic approach, the mind-body approach and the use of language. Individual coaching often focuses on personal development, motivation, self-confidence, stress management and self-awareness. I listen to my clients' motivations, obstacles and individual aspirations. I guide them in identifying potential obstacles and finding ways to overcome them.
As a life coach, I act as a kind of personal mentor, accompanying and guiding people to reach their own truth and live life to the full.
I am Geneviève Berclaz. And I am here for you.
